About Us

Professional Heavy Civil Site Work & Road Construction

Our Company provides Professional Commercial Construction Services for Heavy Civil Infrastructure for the Federal government, City, County government,  and private customers.  We also perform all types of underground utilities and site work.  We are proud to provide the foundation work for many notable projects throughout the Northwest.  SCI Infrastructure and its teams are considered experts in complex piping projects and underground development.

SCI Infrastructure, LLC (formerly Scoccolo Construction, Inc.) was established in 1951. The firm's name was changed from Scoccolo Construction, Inc. in 2001 to SCI Infrastructure, LLC to facilitate the transfer of the company from the founder, Armondo Scoccolo, to his sons, Mark and Patrick. We service projects all over the State of Washington and occasionally venture into Idaho and Oregon.

The company owners are active in several local trade associations related to the construction industry such as the
Associated General Contractors of America and nationally with the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA).  A showcase event chaired by Mark Scoccolo, is the popular Kids event called  "Dozer Days", held annually on the first weekend of June at the Western Washington Events Center (Puyallup Fairgrounds).  This event provides kids the opportunity to run heavy earthwork equipment, such as Dozers, Backhoes and Dump Trucks.  Many grow up to be "Big Kids" and enter the earthwork industry.

History
Started in 1951........

Scoccolo Brothers Excavating started in 1951 when Armondo Scoccolo and his brother John Scoccolo began providing grading services to the local home builders in the area.  The humble beginnings started out with one dozer and a simple sign on 154th Street in SeaTac providing site work to local builders.  In 1959, Armondo decided to pursue public highway work, working for the local contracting community building the freeways throughout the State of Washington.  Armondo initially installed topsoil on the slopes of the newly construction highways and sprayed the slopes with hydroseed to allow grass to grow on them. For many years, Scoccolo Construction provided high quality topsoil spreading and seeding services up and down the major highway corridors in Washington servicing all of the local highway contractors. His brother, John elected to continue providing grading services to their loyal residential construction customers. Scoccolo Construction Company became incorporated in 1961 and operated until 2001 when the company was renamed SCI Infrastructure, LLC. Armondo retired from the day to day operations in 1998. You can still find him roaming the jobsites when he is not salmon fishing or tending to his garden in the summertime.
